Conferences & Events

AoC Sport runs sport, network and training events for our member colleges, staff and students. Our events range from high-profile national conferences for senior college management, to bespoke training programmes.

Sport in the Curriculum Conference 2019

Tuesday 29 January 2019

Holywell Park, Loughborough

The year’s event will feature a keynote from Sport England’s Head of Coaching, Stuart Armstrong, who will be addressing the new professional workforce strategy and ways in which colleges can prepare to support its implementation.

The conference will also feature a range of workshops, including sessions with CIMSPA, The Football Association and our member colleges, designed to support vice principals, quality directors, curriculum leaders, senior managers, heads of sport and public services, faculty heads and lecturers.

This is the only national event dedicated to supporting curriculum sport and active leisure departments within colleges and, as ever, is set to be a fantastic event.

AoC Sport and ECFA National Conference

5 June 2019

Jubilee Conference Centre, Nottingham

The conference will highlight the important role our sector plays in getting more young people active, whilst looking at how young people are benefiting through education, employment and health outcomes.

The conference will feature workshops, engaging presentations and discussions across a wide range of topics of relevance to all football, sport and physical activity delegates.

Network meetings

We operate network meetings in each of the nine AoC Sport regions to give member colleges the opportunity to discuss key issues and share ideas. Heads of Sport and Operations Group meetings take place each term.

We offer a growing programme of training and development opportunities for college staff, including guidance on writing a cross-college sport strategy, and mental health first aid training.

For details of dates for mental health first aid training please contact Kirstie Hickson.
