Outstanding performances by AoC Sport national netballers

The national netball representative team produced two excellent wins in the first training weekend of the year.

The squad travelled to Gateshead College Academy for Sport for two days of intense playing.

The Saturday session consisted of team building, netball drills and skills and squad match play. The Sunday morning saw the two squads practicing within their units and working on tactics before the match play session.

The 2nd squad played against Stanley Thunder and the 1st team played against Durham University 1st team.

Both games were very fast and physical. Several combinations were used throughout and there were some excellent passages of play and outstanding performances.

Notable performances came from 1st team player Hollie Noon for her excellent shooting and attacking work and 2nd team player Iona Gardner for her numerous defensive interceptions and tips and restriction of attacking players.

The 2nd team enjoyed a comfortable 57-33 victory over Stanley Thunder, while the1st team narrowly beat Durham University 1st team 46-41.
