Sport England works to get more people active across England – regardless of age, background or ability. From traditional team sports to activities like walking or going to the gym, Sport England is building an active nation that caters for everyone.
In May 2016 they launched their current strategy ‘Towards and Active Nation’ and outlined the work they will do between 2017 and 2021 to increase the number of people getting active. It’s Sport England’s response to the Government’s ‘Sporting Future’ strategy, which was published in December 2015.https://www.sportengland.org/
The Football Association (The FA)
The Football Association, English football’s governing body, was formed in 1863. The FA sanctions all competitive football matches within its remit at national level, and indirectly at local level through the County Football Associations.
The FA is the principal partner of AoC Sport’s football delivery arm, English Colleges Football Association (ECFA).
The England Colleges Rugby Football Union (ECRFU)
The England Colleges Rugby Football Union (ECRFU) was formed in 2012 to provide focus and momentum for the development of rugby in the college sector.
AoC Sport encourages members to take up membership of the ECRFU to access benefits and grow the sport in colleges.
