Football Apprenticeships

The five pillars of ECFA which shape our football development work are:

Participation, Competitions, Workforce, Community and Governance

In partnership with The FA, we run the FA Women’s Football Apprentice programme.

The apprentices have been recruited as part of The FA’s Women’s Football Strategy, ‘The Gameplan for Growth’ and are employed by colleges, working through AoC Sport.

The programme aims to boost student employability while supporting the FA in doubling female participation. The key focus is on developing apprentice’s personal behaviours via a bespoke personal development compass and behaviour framework.

Apprentices have access to a varied CPD programme including webinars, an online hub and training days. Each apprentice is tasked with engaging female participants and students leaders across the college sector and within the local community.

Workforce is essential to the successful development of grassroots football and we want to invest in the future workforce and provide meaningful and authentic learning opportunities for these young people, with the ambitions of working in football development and other areas of the game.
