Active IQ becomes new AoC Sport Leadership Academy Training Partner

College students will have more training opportunities than ever before thanks to a new partnership between the AoC Sport Leadership Academy and leading awarding organisation Active IQ.

Active IQ, which designs qualifications that support clear career pathways, has joined the Leadership Academy as an official training partner to provide new opportunities for students’ personal and professional development.

The partnership comes in a year in which a record 100 colleges have signed up to the Leadership Academy. More than 750 students across the volunteering programmes will benefit from the new partnership, including more than 400 students already recruited for the 2020/21 Ambassador programmes.

Gray Mytton, AoC Sport Policy and Projects Officer, said:

“At AoC Sport we understand the range of benefits that volunteering in sport or physical activity can have on students and their peer groups. So we are delighted that Active IQ has stepped up to support us in enhancing and widening our training offer to our wonderful student volunteers and the college staff that support them.”

Active IQ will be supporting the Leadership Academy over the next three years to enhance the student training opportunities available via access to the Active IQ Skills Hub, a new live training offer and an enhanced AoC Sport e-learning platform. This will enable students to widen their knowledge and skills and improve their volunteering experience and future aspirations.

Jenny Patrickson, Active IQ Managing Director said:

“We know from experience that rich resources and generous support enhance and elevate the learning process for students, while skills-related materials help learners appreciate the relevance and context of their vocational training. We are therefore delighted to be chosen by AoC Sport to provide these additional training options, enhanced e-learning and skill support programmes and look forward to seeing the students’ progress.”
