AoC Sport Leadership Academy expressions of interest open

Applications are now open for the first roles of AoC Sport’s newly-launched Leadership Academy.

The academy is the first over-arching programme which encompasses all volunteering opportunities within AoC Sport.

Students can now apply for AoC Sport Leaders and This Girl Can Ambassadors opportunities for the next academic year.

AoC Sport Leaders will take on integral volunteer roles in AoC Sport and partner events, while the This Girl Can Ambassadors will be tasked with raising participation across their college among female students by utilising the Sport England campaign.

Students that are accepted as part of the Leadership Academy will have access to online training on a range of topics, including mental health, social media and safeguarding training to enhance their personal development.

All students who volunteer at events will also receive a certificate at the end of the year recognising their contribution to college sport.

This programme is aiming to diversify the volunteer workforce to better reflect the demographics of college students. College staff are asked to promote this opportunity to and encourage applications from students from under-represented groups including females, BAME and students with a disability.

How to apply

Please submit expressions of interest on this Smart Survey form.

When applying students must give the name of a college staff member that will support their application.

Further information about each of the programmes and how to apply can be found on the Volunteering web page.

This Girl Can applications will close on Monday 8 October at 12pm.

Applications for AoC Sport Leaders will be ongoing.

More opportunities within the Leadership Academy will be announced later in the year.
