AoC Sport looking for This Girl Can student ambassadors
AoC Sport is looking to identify around 70 This Girl Can ambassadors to raise awareness of the campaign.
After training, the students will promote local This Girl Can activities, both in college and the community, to other students in their colleges, particularly those that are currently inactive. Students from AoC Sport member colleges are invited to apply through a simple smart survey process, which opens on Friday 27 January until Friday 10 February.
Successful applicants will be invited to a high-profile national training event held at The Orbit at London Olympic Park on Thursday 2 March. This will increase their knowledge and understanding of the This Girl Can campaign including the data, insight and rationale behind it.
They will also take part in training on how to become an effective leader, how to organise and deliver events and how to promote activities effectively using social media. They will then be supported to promote and deliver local activities for which some funding can be provided. The ambassadors will also volunteer at AoC Sport This Girl Can events, increasing visibility of the programme in their local region.
The application process will open on Friday 27 January and will close on Friday 10 February at 5pm.
A contribution towards transport costs for students can be made as long as it is agreed with a member of AoC Sport staff before the training.
