AoC Sport national netballers maintain unbeaten start to 2019

The AoC Sport national netballers continued their unbeaten start to the season with a clean sweep of victories against Northern Ireland recently.

The Belfast Royal Academy in Antrim played host to the opening match against the under-17 Northern Ireland squad.

The squad of 18 AoC Sport players completely dominated the Northern Irish -side and coasted to victory by a 50-goal margin 77-27.

All players got some court time and gelled well to produce a fantastic result. Different combinations were used in all areas of the court and all players stepped up and worked hard for the team.

After the match a debrief was undertaken, looking at strengths and areas to work on for the next two matches.

The first team played the under-21 NI squad. After a very good warm up, the starting seven started very well and were 17-6 up by the first quarter.

Players were again subbed on and off but the momentum continued, with AoC Sport running out 67-27 winners.

There was some excellent work throughout the court, with coach Julie Kimber calling it “a brilliant team effort.”

She added: “The shooting unit had stats of 85%-95%. There were also a huge number of interceptions throughout the court that we converted and a very high percentage of centre pass and attacking stats.”
