AoC Sport recruiting representative on FA Council

AoC Sport is recruiting for our representative on The Football Association Council.

Position: FA Council member, representing AoC Sport and the FE sector

The role
We are delighted that AoC Sport has been offered a place on the Football Association Council, following the FA’s AGM earlier this month. We have been asked to help fill this place and are now looking for someone to represent AoC Sport and be the voice for colleges and the further education sector as a whole, on a voluntary basis.

FA Council meets five times per season – July, October, January, April and May. Meetings are usually at Wembley although on occasion they may be at St. George’s Park. They normally start at 11.00am and may run onto approximately 3.00pm.

FA Council members can be considered for committee membership, although it isn’t compulsory.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of football in England and raise the profile of college football.

The person
The ideal candidate will have:
• A detailed knowledge of and passion for the FE sector
• A deep understanding of the football landscape in England
• An ability to operate and influence in a complex political environment

The FA is particularly interested in applications which reflect under-represented groups in football development: women, ethnic minorities.

FA stipulations

To put forward your name for consideration, please provide a copy of your CV and a covering letter, detailing why you feel you are the best person for the role. This will be needed to explain the nomination to the FA. Please send these to by Friday 9 June 5pm.
