British Rowing partners with WorldSkills UK Fitness Trainer Competition

AoC Sport, as the organiser of the WorldSkills UK Fitness Trainer Competition, is pleased to announce a formal partnership with British Rowing to support the competition finals, taking place in November as part of the Skills Show.

Earlier this year British Rowing were awarded accreditation by the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) for their Indoor Rowing programme – ‘Go Row Indoor’ – which looks to bring the rowing machine back into fashion as a versatile and widely used piece of gym equipment, for both individual and group exercise.

The WorldSkills UK Fitness Trainer Competition, supported by Active IQ, is the only skills competition open to students working towards careers in the fitness industry in the UK. The competition tests aspiring fitness professionals’ knowledge and skills in a range of industry-driven tasks against professional standards.

Competition Manager, Christopher Pitts said: “We are delighted to have British Rowing supporting the competition finals this year with their Go Row Indoor programme, which is already proving popular in colleges. The competition judging team and I are looking forward to seeing how the finalists tackle all of the tasks at the finals including Indoor Rowing which I’m sure will be quite a spectacle.”

The competition finals, part of the Skills Show, will bring together the top eight competitors from across the UK to compete in a range of tasks, in front of an expected 100,000 visitors across three days. Tickets to the Skills Show are free and available now from the Skills Show website.
