British Wheelchair Basketball launch regional Inclusive Zone Basketball tournaments
British Wheelchair Basketball have launched a series of regional Inclusive Zone Basketball tournaments across the country for schools and colleges.
Starting with the North East tournament on Friday February 26, the events will run across 10 regions, concluding with the North West Midlands competition in April. The winners will progress to national final, held at Worcester University on April 27.
Inclusive Zone Basketball is an exciting introduction to wheelchair and running basketball that enables players with different abilities and disabilities to play together in the same mixed-gender team.
The game is played in teams of four on a basketball court split into three zones. Teams can enter with a squad of 5-10 players of mixed gender, and any age between 11 and 18. A minimum of one wheelchair player must have a lower limb impairment and be on court at all times.
To find out when and where your local tournament is happening please see the attached posters.
