Central College Nottingham’s Alex turns voluntary squash role into paid employment
Following voluntary work experience coaching Nottingham’s future squash players, Central College Nottingham sport student Alex Fray has been head-hunted and offered a paid role at Nottingham Squash as Junior Squash Coach.
Level 3 student Alex has given up his free time and has been coaching junior players alongside the Head Coach at Rushcliffe Squash Club on Sunday mornings, and is keen to continue this alongside his new paid role.
Having been offered the job, Alex has spent his first week at the new Rushcliffe Arena leading free taster sessions for children interested in getting involved in squash.
Tom Walker, Central College’s Sport Work Experience Coordinator, highlights the importance of students getting involved with work experience opportunities in the world of sport: “Alex’s achievement and job offer is a credit to the hard work and dedication that he has put into his coaching and is a great example of how voluntary work experiences can improve employability.”
