Clegg and Wylie help ParalympicsGB match London gold medal tally

ParalympicsGB matched their London 2012 gold medal tally overnight, thanks in no small part to the success of FE athletes.

Former Loughborough College student Libby Clegg got her second gold of the Games in the T11 200m, having won the 100m event on Saturday night.

Her success was swiftly followed by 19-year-old Matt Wylie in the pool. The current Sunderland College student came out on top after a fiercely contested men’s S9 50m freestyle, in which all eight finalists were separated by just 0.81 seconds.

Ellie Simmonds, another former Loughborough College student, also won her second medal of the Games last night, although she was left disappointed with only claiming bronze in the women’s S6 400m freestyle.
