Derby College students lead the way after Day One of the AoC Sport Open Golf Championship

Derby College enjoyed a successful first day at the AoC Sport Open Golf Championship.


The two-day event, held at Fairmont St Andrews, got underway this morning with students taking on both the Torrance Course and the Kittocks Course.

And Derby students finished the day at the front of the pack in the girls’ category,  team event and mixed net table.

Olivia Kelly posted 70 on the Kittocks Course, to lead ahead of Balby Academy of Sport’s Laura Morrison on 75, while Derby College also lead Balby in the team event.

In the boys’ competition, Hartlepool FE College’s Cameron Wallace hit an impressive 69 on the Torrance Course, with Myerscough’s Luke Stanford in hot pursuit.


In the mixed event, it’s currently a Derby College one, two, three, with Olivia Kelly at the front of the field, ahead of Jamie Mcfaul and Josh Williams.
