FA National Youth Council opportunity

The FA wish to invite nominations for its 2019/20 National Youth Council.

Applicants should be 16-25 and be involved with football as a volunteer or in a professional capacity. Those selected can expect a rewarding and demanding experience where they will be provided with learning opportunities to develop their own leadership credentials as well as support The FA in the development of its policies and programmes for young people.

The FA National Youth Council’s vision is to inspire, empower and provide a voice for all children and young people to influence change, and develop a lasting legacy in football.

The newly appointed team of 12 youth leaders will build upon the success of last year’s team and continue the momentum towards building youth-adult partnerships. The objectives developed by The FA National Youth Council are drawn from the National Game Strategy. These are:

  • Have an impact on increasing the number of children and young people participating and volunteering within football.
  • Provide a voice to shape FA policies.
  • Work together and grow the network of County FA youth councils and student managements teams in all regions across the country.
  • Build partnerships and deliver specific projects for youth leaders, including The FA’s Leadership Academy 2020.

Key tasks will involve supporting or initiating new County Youth Councils and assisting with the organisation of The FA’s  Euro 2020 Leadership Academy.

Deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 19 July 2019 and the application is available to download from here: FA National Youth Council Application Form
