Football Activators and college staff attend ECFA training days
ECFA Football Activators attended the first of this year’s FA College Grassroots Hubs training events this week.
Members of staff from The FA and AoC Sport delivered a range of workshops, focussing on futsal development, women’s and girls football, disability football and community links.
The training days also coincided with #LoveOurColleges week, a campaign to highlight the good work going on at colleges and campaign for fair funding.
Eighty nine colleges from across the country have been selected as a College Grassroots Hub for 2018/19.
As part of their training for the role, which will see them work to grow football participation and opportunities within their college, the activators and members of staff were invited to attend one of four training days across the country.
The aim of the training was to share best practice, discuss challenges and think of innovative solutions. The event included a Q&A with guest panels made up of previous Activators, including Oli Moore and JJ Roble, who shared their leadership journeys, as well as Mark White (AoC Sport Chair) and Hannah Simpson (East Riding County FA CEO).
Here is a selection of feedback from the day via Twitter

Great to talk about how we engage young people in decision making at every level, and how we make decision makers more representative of the communities we serve…
