Football, hockey and netball representative team nominations now open

AoC Sport is delighted to announce the details of the trial process for the football, hockey and netball representative teams for 2022-23.

Full member colleges and associates are encouraged to nominate players who they consider to be of an appropriate standard for national representation. All AoC Sport institutions have been emailed a link to complete the nomination form through Smart Survey. Any staff member who requires the link to the nomination form please email competitions@aoc.co.uk.

Our representative teams have been operating for over 25 years providing unique and exciting opportunities for talented male and female players to represent their country through domestic and international fixtures as England Colleges.

What is the deadline for nominating?
The deadline for nominating players is Friday, 14 October 2022 in all representative sports.

If I am nominated will I automatically make it through to the trials?
In football all nominated players can attend trials. In hockey and netball if we are oversubscribed then institutions may be contacted to obtain further information and evidence to enable shortlisting, although in hockey if we are hugely oversubscribed then we will run 2 trials dates one in early November and one in late November.

Is there a charge to attend the trials?
To attend the netball trials there is a £20 fee per player for full member colleges. For associates this is covered in your fee to access the representative trial process which covers all representative teams. Both the football and hockey trials are free to attend for colleges and for associates this is covered in your fee to access the nomination process.

Is there a charge to be part of the representative team?
If you are selected and accept your place on the representative team you will need to pay a fee, as the representative teams are self-funding programmes. The fees for this season are:

  • Football Men and Women: £499 per player
  • Hockey Men: £400 per male player
  • Hockey Women: £495 per female player
  • Netball £500 per player

What is the age criteria?
Football men - age: under 19 and over 16 as of the 31 August 2022
Football women - age: under 21 and over 16 as of the 31 August 2022
Hockey men - age: under 19 and over 16 as of the 31 August 2022
Hockey women - age: under 21 and over 16 as of the 31 August 2022
Netball - age: under 21 and over 16 as of the 31 August 2022
