Open Golf Championships 2019: day one results announced

It’s all to play for at the end of the first day of the 2019 AoC Sport Open Golf Championships.

The two-day event, held at Fairmont St Andrews, got underway yesterday with 75 students taking on both the Torrance Course and the Kittocks Course.

The 2019 Championships are proving to be highly competitive already with students being challenged on one of the most prestigious golf courses in the world.

Jointly leading the men’s gross competition with 70 after day one are Charlie Daughtrey (Wath Comprehensive) and Lewis Harrison (Balby Carr).

Lewis Harrison is also doing well in the men’s nett competition, sitting behind George Chamberlain of Accrington & Rossendale College who leads with a score of 65.

There is only one point separating Myerscough College and Wath Comprehensive for the team event honours. Also in the mix are Balby Carr and Hartpury College.

Please see below for a full breakdown of the results after day one of the Championships.
