Silver in Rio for former Loughborough College student O’Connor
Great Britain’s Siobhan-Marie O’Connor broke another British record to earn silver in the women’s 200m Individual Medley last night.
The 20-year-old former Loughborough College student had already set a new British record to win her semi-final, and managed to break it again en route to silver, with a time of 2:06:88.
O’Connor was pipped to top spot on the podium by Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu, who had to push herself to an Olympic record to keep the Briton at bay.
It continues a fantastic Olympic Games for Loughborough College, with student Daniel Goodfellow having won bronze alongside diving partner Tom Daley the night before.
