Social Week of Action profile: Chi Ejiofor

This week, our ECFA National Student Leadership Committee are teaming up with BUCS’ Student Management Group to Support Kick It Out, football’s equality and inclusion organisation, to raise social awareness of discrimination and promote equality within football and sport in general.

NSLC member Roya Mehdizadeh-Valoujerdy spoke to Football Activator Chi Ejiofor.

Current role within football: Football Activator

Background in football: I regularly play football. Usually with friends and 5-a-side. One of my friends who was an activator last year recommended the role to me and it sounded like something I would like to be involved with.

What opportunities have you had? I’ve been able to run a dinner-time club, go to training events and go to Wembley.

What barriers have you faced on your journey? My own motivation has sometimes blocked me from doing my best. Also sometimes a lack of communication among the other activators I work with has delayed our progress.

What do you hope to achieve within football? I hope to help others understand the joys and benefits of playing football, and help them play regularly.
