The FA launch latest Girls’ Football Week for October
The FA have announced the date for the latest Girls’ Football Week, due to take place in October.
In April, more than 52,000 girls took part in FA Girls’ Football Week, and AoC Sport is committed to helping build on this terrific achievement in October.
During the week of 10 -16 October 2016, The FA, AoC Sport and other partners will again be focused on impacting the lives of as many young girls as possible, as we embark on another FA Girls’ Football Week!
The aim is to engage a further 22,000 participants with a focus on Further and Higher Education.
What is FA Girls’ Football Week?
- During FA Girls’ Football Week the whole country gears up to encourages female-specific football sessions in local clubs, schools and community groups.
- The week helps us measure our progress towards our ultimate goal, which is to double female participation by 2020.
- To measure our progress, we ask everyone taking part to log their activity.
So, what do we need from you?
At the moment, all you need to do is Save the Date in your diaries, register your college and think about how you can contribute to getting as many girls involved as possible, either within your college or through the local community.
We also need your help to encourage as many girls to get involved in football during the week, by getting the word out in the local community.
What can The FA and AoC Sport do to help?
Once you log your session you will gain access to resources to promote your sessions along with session plans and ideas to get you started.
Also, FA Girls’ Football Week is the time to show off all the great work you do in your college.
If you use the hashtag #WeCanPlay, The FA and your CountyFAwill be keen to share your content.
Ultimately, our aim is for every parent, every teacher, and every girl in England to get involved in football and we want to do it this October.
