An exceptional opportunity has arisen within AoC Sport as we recruit for a Policy and Projects Officer to work in the North and Midlands areas covering the North West, North East, Yorkshire & Humber, East Midlands and West Midlands regions.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced professional with an excellent understanding of the college sector.  In this role you will act as the lead voice for college sport in the area, cascading and informing national policy and initiatives whilst establishing and maintaining effective relationships with a wide range of partners.  To do this you will need strong communication and influencing skills.

You will have an important role in the implementation of the policy ‘Fit for College, Fit for Work, Fit for Life’ with a focus on the three key strategic outcomes – Education, Employment and Health.  You will take a lead role in designing and delivering Sport England-funded projects focusing on the most inactive students.  You will also monitor developments in relation to education policy, funding, inspection and other issues of importance to colleges interpreting, assessing and communicating the impact of these on college sport.  This is an exciting time to join our team as we plan to meet the challenges of the Government and Sport England strategies as well as achieving our aim of getting every student active.

To be successful in this role you must be able to work with a wide range of partners to achieve shared outcomes, be equally happy to work collaboratively within a team and independently, be proactive in building partnerships and able to make decisions quickly.  It is important that you can review and analyse new information quickly and accurately and use it to produce clear messages for a range of audiences.  You should also value diversity at work, be prepared to work flexibly, manage multiple priorities and take responsibility for completing the job at hand to a high standard.  If this is you, we would like to hear from you.
