An exceptional opportunity has arisen within AoC Sport as we recruit on a maternity cover basis for the newly created post of Development Manager. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced professional with an understanding of the college sport sector and experience of working at a strategic level with community sport organisations to join our policy and development team. In this role you will lead on developing physical activity and sport programmes, ensuring the successful implementation of a range of externally funding projects. You will line manage our team of Regional Development Officers who also organise competition opportunities for colleges. You will need to establish and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of partners for which you will need strong communication and influencing skills. This is an exciting time to join our team as we plan to meet the challenges of the Government and Sport England strategies as well as achieving our aim of getting every student active.
To be successful in this role you must be able to work with a wide range of partners to achieve shared outcomes, be able to work collaboratively and lead a team effectively. You should be able to consider complex information and make appropriate decisions quickly. It is important that you can design, implement, monitor and evaluate projects to deadline and on budget. You should also value diversity at work, be prepared to work flexibly, manage multiple priorities and take responsibility for completing the job at hand to a high standard.
