Virtual timetable of health, wellbeing and fitness sessions launched

A live online timetable of health, wellbeing and fitness sessions has been put together by AoC Sport to keep students and staff active while staying at home.

We have coordinated this timetable to showcase how the further education sector has adapted to the current situation and ensured that student and staff health and wellbeing remains a priority. Using content delivered by AoC Sport, colleges, our higher education partners and sponsors we have created a timetable of live sessions to suit every person’s ability, time-frame and interests.

 

We will be delivering free live fitness sessions twice a week hosted on our Facebook page by four of our best and most experienced World Skills Fitness Trainer Alumni.

The personal trainers will be working on a two-week rotation as follows:

Week one

Mondays at 11:00-11:30 – All Ability Fitness with Jack Burbank

Jack is a former Loughborough College student who won gold in the AoC Sport Gym Instructor Competition in 2015 and bronze in the WorldSkills UK Fitness Trainer Competition 2016. Jack currently works at a personal trainer in Loughborough and is an expert in all aspects of fitness and nutrition. He works with a wide range of clients including professional footballers, executive professionals and clients with physical disabilities.

Dates of delivery: 4 May 2020, 18 May 2020, 1 June 2020, 15 June 2020, 29 June 2020, 13 July 2020, 27 July 2020 and 10 August 2020.

Wednesdays at 14:00- 14:30– Cardio Core with Kasia Matejko

Kasia is an alumna of City of Glasgow College and now trains future competitors at the college to maximise their performance. She won a bronze medal in the WorldSkills UK Fitness Trainer Competition 2018 and has gone on to set up her own business in Glasgow where she combines her wealth of experience in boxing and classical ballet to provide expert advice and training to her clients.

Week two

Mondays at 11:00-11:30 – Yoga with Danielle Hall

Danielle won the gold medal in the WorldSkills UK Fitness Trainer Competition 2019 for Coleg Gwent in South Wales and works now as a Master Yogini after training in Morocco. Danielle is an expert Exercise Referral Specialist, Vegan Health Coach and Exercise to Music Fitness Instructor. An experience not to be missed, her inspiring yoga classes focus on moving fluidly with the breath in a way that feels good, guiding them gently and mindfully, achieving a total sense of wellness and vitality.

Wednesdays at 14:00-14:30 – Home Bootcamp with Ricky Raybould

Ricky studied at Coleg Gwent in South Wales and was awarded a Special Commendation in the 2017 WorldSkills UK Fitness Trainer Competition. He is now a brilliant personal trainer working across South Wales and trains clients of all backgrounds and fitness abilities both in his gym, in their homes, outdoors and online. His classes are fun and energetic, full of challenges and great motivation.
